To study and compare cost differences between foundation approaches, Raised Floor Living funded the construction of two identical three-bedroom homes in Mobile, Ala. Each has 1,073 square feet of conditioned space. One was built on a concrete slab-on-grade foundation and the other on a raised wood foundation. Raised Floor Living partnered with Habitat for Humanity in Mobile County on the project, and construction started Feb. 2. Click here to see the floor plan.
